A Small Break

Hey guys ! I'm sorry I haven't been posting in a while but I'm currently very busy with tests and you know, school stuff.
I'm going to take a small break from blogging, I'll be back around January as soon as my finals are finished. You can still talk to me on Twitter and of course I'm still going to read your blogs (I don't know if I'll comment everytime and I'm sorry about that).

I don't know how some of you manage to do it all. If you have some tips for that I'd love to hear them.

Anyway, see you soon !

I'll be back.

Riverdale S1 | Ep 1 & 2 !

Hello everyone !

I don't know if you know this about me but I always watch something on the side when I'm blogging/studying/whatever. So when I was working on my « Rereading A Game of Thrones » post and realized I had nothing to watch, I remembered that Greg liked Riverdale and I thought I would give it a try.
I watched the first two episodes and I'm still not sure of whether I like it or not. Let's start with the beginning.

My Favorite Book Titles !

Hello everyone !

Book titles are extremely important. They are literally the first thing you see when you look at a book cover.
Sometimes, they're even more important than the actual cover.
Let's take If I Fix You for instance. I'm not a fan of the cover but the title immediately made me click on the "want to read" button.

That's why today I decided to dedicate a full post to my favorite book titles.

September Wrap Up | I Don't Like Being Busy

Hello everyone !

Can you believe it's already October ?
This month was good but tiring. I've been very busy between blogging, reading, my three group projects, my classes … It's very hard to manage everything but I'm doing my best so that's what matters, right ? I'm sorry if I don't comment to your blogs as often as I used to. I read blog posts when I'm on the bus but it's difficult to comment from my phone.

Fortunately, it's my last year of college, unless I decide to continue for two more years which is very unlikely. I'm trying to enjoy the "college experience" as much as I can. For those wondering, I'm not talking about partying and having fun with friends but going to the library and to class. I only missed two days this month. That must be a record for me.

Now that you know how boring I really am we can start this wrap up !

Discussion | Bullied by A Professor

Hello everyone !

Today, I'm going to talk about something not related to books/blogging and that is college. More particularly, awful professors. I don't mean awful like "oh they're so mean, they give us tons of homework". I mean the "real" kind of awful. The kind that can hurt people.
I have a very racist/discriminating professor and I need to rant.

Discussion | Are DNF Reviews Useless ?

Hello everyone !

I've seen a lot of people on Twitter, Booktube and such say that people who DNF a book shouldn't write reviews about them. As you may have guessed - since I have a DNF section on this blog – I disagree.

Game of Thrones S7 | Part 2 : The South

Hello everyone !

August Wrap Up | My Worst Reading Month ...?

Hello everyone !

August is over and Winter is coming (I'm not talking about the actual winter I'm talking about college, don't judge me). In a week I'll go back to college and … I don't want to. I'm not going to complain for a whole paragraph about it so let's move on to the fun stuff : Games !
I fell in love with Life is Strange. It's such a fascinating game. For those who've never heard of it, it's basically a game where every choice you make will have an impact on the present and the future (and sometimes the past too). We follow a high school student who can rewind time and let me tell you, it's not as cool as it sounds. I mean, yes ,time-travel is awesome but the consequences, guys. Everytime I had to make a choice I had to think about what would happen next. The cool thing is that you can rewind after making a choice to see the other alternatives.

Now let's talk about reading … *sighs*. It was complicated. I thought I was in a reading slump for a while but the only problem was that I didn't love any of the books I've read - or tried to read - this month.

Game of Thrones S7 | Part 1 : The North

Hello and welcome to the obsessive part of my brain.

As you may or may not know, I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones. I love the show, I love the books even more, I'm completely obsessed. Today, I'm going to review, ramble and share my crazy interpretations of this season.

Before you go into this review you need to know that :

1. I'm going to divide this review in two parts : The North and the South (take a moment to admire my creativity here).
2. There are LOTS of spoilers ahead, you're warned.
3. All of my theories are my own. I don't really read fan theories
4. If a quote isn't in a blockquote or in italic, it's just me paraphrasing the characters.
5. I tend to talk directly to the characters. Don't worry, they're used to it.

The Longest Book Tag !

Hello everyone !

Today I'm doing the longest book tag. It was created by Ditsha from Bewitchingly Paranoid and I was tagged by Sam from Tsundoku Books.

The Rules:
1. Make a list of the five longest books you've ever read.
2. Select two of the longest books on your TBR.
3. Discuss.
4. Tag others

All of these books have more than 500 pages. This post would be a little dull if I repeated five times how much I loved those books so instead I'm going to tell you what kept me reading.

Books are great but I want to talk about other things sometimes and since I'm a huge fan of TV Shows and movies, I thought « why not ? ». So today I'm bringing you my reaction to the trailer of the Netflix adaptation of Death Note (spoiler alert : I think this is going to be terrible.)

This post contains spoilers for the original story. Italic quotes are from the manga/anime.

July Wrap Up | Germany Here I Come !

Hello everyone !

This month has been crazy. I got my Wifi back (thank god) and I realized how much I depended on it. Besides reading, writing reviews and cleaning (I did a lot of cleaning. Without wifi I'm the cleanest person in the world), I was pretty bored. Also, as you may have noticed I started blogging again ! I missed it so much and I'm so glad I'm doing it again. During my break, I  read some of your posts (before I had my wifi problems) and you all inspired me to come back to this blog and keep doing what I love so thank you for being awesome !

Now let's talk about today's announcement : I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks ! While you're reading this, I'm probably in the north of France. I'm going to visit a city there and then I'll go to Germany. You can't imagine how excited I am. I'm probably going to try speaking German... And fail miserably since I can't speak German (except hello and money. It's a good start, right ?) but it's going to be fun.
Don't worry though, I have some posts scheduled for you. Let me know if you want me to do a post about where I'm going and all of that.

Let's move on to the actual wrap up.

What Diversity Means to Me

Hello everyone, it's time to be controversial !

I hesitated a lot before doing this post but I need to have this discussion because I don't like how the community is changing. I realize I might be hated for what I'm going to say so I'm going to ask you to keep an open mind.

This discussion is obviously going to be about diversity. I support diversity all the way. To me, diversity is realizing that there are different types of people in the world. It may be a very simplistic definition but that's how I see it. When you read diversely, you open up to different cultures, different point of views, different people with issues you're probably never going to have and that's what makes it beautiful. Our differences. It'd be so boring if we were all the same after all.
This world is full of many types of people and it'd be a shame not to read about all of them (or at least try).

My Fictional Family

Hello everyone !

A couple of days ago, I was thinking about how I loved when the family aspect is developped in a book and I thought it would be cool to imagine what my fictional family would be like.
This is what I came up with :

24 avr. 2017

Review | Thirteen Reasons Why Season 1

For those who have never heard about it the story follows Clay Jensen, a high schooler whose crush, Hannah Baker committed suicide. One day, he receives a box full of tapes recorded by Hannah explaining why she did this. Each tape is about one reason - one person - and since Clay has received it, it means he's one of the reason.
I first read this book when I was in high school. It was actually the first book that kept me reading all night. I just couldn't put it down. I needed to know the reasons, I needed to understand why the life of a regular girl turned so wrong so fast.

Before I say anything else, you need to know this book isn't about justifying suicide. It's about preventing it. I think the message behind it is good : Small things matter. And you never know what's going on in another person's life.

Now we can move on to the actual review.

My April TBR

Hey ! I know, I haven't posted in months and I'm sorry. It's just life you know ? One day you're motivated to post three times a week, to read and to do everything else on your to-do-list but then, stuff happens and you're more focused on other things.
It's not a good excuse, I know but that's what happened. This post doesn't mean you're going to get a lot of posts like before but it's a start. I've been wanting to post something for a while but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Today though, I'm motivated enough to write a quick and easy post : My April TBR.
